HighImpactCruising
Every cruise has a core group of people who work very hard to provide memorable experiences for their passengers.
Your Cabin Steward may be one of the first people you will meet once on board. Your steward takes care of your room making it presentable and keeping it clean all throughout your cruise vacation. They are usually in the hallway when I go to breakfast, and there again when I head for Dinner. We have had so many good cabin stewards, and appreciate each of them for the impact they have had on our vacations.
Your Waiter and Assistant waiter are helpful too. If you have flexible dining scheduled, you may not have the same wait staff, but when you have a fixed time and table set as is more traditional, you will have the same waiter and assistant waiter for each dinner. They get to know your preferences, and though they are usually really hustling to get through dinner service, they can be really helpful, and can also have a high impact on your cruise vacation.
These staff members are the ones who are included in your daily gratuities that the cruise line will generally bill you for and distribute for you, but sometimes you want to reward especially helpful service! Feel free to do so! These people can make or break your cruise experience, especially during your first cruising experiences.
Some Cruise lines include the head waiter as another staff member who shares in the tips. Sometimes the Head Waiter will be very visible to you, sometimes they will be more behind the scenes.
